the signal from the remote is not always getting through to the fire. In order to switch the fire off you have to disconnect the gas supply.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This fireplace controller arrived safely from Spain and on testing was found to be sending a signal as per normal operation.
The control was opened and the RF board inspected for issues but no fault could be replicated.
This has classed this item as no fault found and it is suspected that the issue may be with the receiver itself.
