Velux 83321201 Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : Its a very old and battered remote as the kids have had their hands on it. It always worked regardless but the screen has now gone completely black. The casing at the bottom has also split.
I have tried to purchase a replacement but can't get a hold of one. I was just seeing if there was a possibility of a repair.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This Velux controller arrived safely and on inspection the case was badly damaged.
On adding a power source the item was found to be totally dead.
On opening there was the usual component missing due to a poor solder joint, this was replaced but the dead issue remained, this was eventually found to be due to a bad screen. A replacement screen was fitted which restored full functionality.
Please note that when power was restored the language was set to German. This was deduced to be due to random button presses when the display was not visible.
The controller was reset and put back to the UK English language. This item will need to be re-setup with its receiver by the customer.
A replacement case was fitted as well.
