Mirtek Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : The remote control handset works well. But the receiver is not working on the 'shut valve' channel but seems to work on the 'open valve' channel. The red receiver indicator light does not work on either channel. I know the handset is fine as I have a spare receiver and the handset works perfectly with it. (Please let me know if you need the handset too for testing etc) I believe the problem is component based on the pcb.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This fireplace control and receiver arrived safely and on testing the receiver was confirmed to only respond on one channel and the LED was not illuminating.
The battery block had signs of a battery leakage.
The battery block and LED was replaced and also the 40.5 khz crystal which restored full functionality.
No issue was found with the remote itself.
