Customers Fault Description : Receiver unit not responding to remote. all buttons give multiple flashes on fob indicating low battery but but exchanged first with new battery from Lidl then with Duracell (too powerful?) and finally with Rayovac date coded 2026 but still no joy.

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

This garage door fob arrived safely.  This control was found to be used with an incorrect battery after speaking to the customer.  It was decided to clean up the button contacts and provide a set of batteries.

Then it was found that a fault did in fact exist.  Once batteries were inserted the remote illuminated as normal but no RF signal was being emmited.

It was due to corrosion on the PCB which had erroded R7 resistor away from the board.  The print was also badly damaged meaning a replacement resistor had to be soldered onto the board using a wire tap.

Once the resistor was fitted full functionality was restored.
