Batteries leaked in unit…has never worked since.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This remote arrived safely and on inspection was confirmed to have a badly corroded battery terminal and the item was dead.

The terminal was replaced but sadly the remote remained dead.  A component test was carried out and it was eventually found that one of the oscillators was at fault, this was replaced which restored full functionality.
