Customer's Fault Description
I dropped it. The bottom end of battery block/holder broke away. If one holds the end of the battery block firmly in place, the 4 lights light up and it operates.
But taping it back together did not enable the connection to be made at the bottom end of the battery holder.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Electrically-opening Roof light and electric blind remote arrived safely and on inspection was found to have a badly damaged battery housing. This housing was found to be hard wired into the PCB as part of its fixing meaning a standard replacement was not the best fit.
It was decided to glue the original housing up using a metallic bond (basically sets as hard as metal), also the terminals were cleared of all contaminants as the previous gluing attempt had contaminated the terminals causing a poor battery connection.
After 12 hours of curing the battery housing was restored and full functionality was restored.
