Remote Fixer Repair Response
This remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be dead.
This was thought to be due to a faulty oscillator, this was replaced and also the button contacts cleaned up which restored full functionality, after testing for a few minutes the remote seemed to stop transmitting. This was found to be the main IC being at fault, whenever the PCB is heated with a soldering iron the remote will start to work again until it has cooled down.
