Customer's Fault Description
Seems like the sensor is not getting to the gas fire itself. A light is flickering when buttons are pressed.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This remote arrived safely and on inspection was found to have a broken retaining clip on the battery cover, this cannot be replaced as spare battery covers are not available.

On testing the remote would illuminate but not transmit a signal.  This was due to a break in the print near the IR LED.  The print was reworked which restored full functionality.
