Customer's Fault Description
I think the circuit board is worn or bent out of shape through use. It did work intermittently depending on how you exerted pressure on the buttons, but now it's stopped working altogether.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be dead.
On opening the issue was found to be a broken leg on the oscillator, this will also explain why it was originally intermittent.
The oscillator was replaced which restored full functionality.
