Customer's Fault Description
remote does not work as there is a missing spring within the remote which means that the battery is loose and does not connect to both pieces of metal.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This remote arrived safely and on inspection the battery cover was damaged in such a way that the only way to replace the battery was to remove the back.  

On opening one of the terminals was confirmed to be broken, this was replaced and then it was found that some of the buttons were sluggish in response.  All 5 buttons were replaced.
