Customer's Fault Description
Cannot make it interact with the item it was supplied with, CD, Amp and pRe amp made by Quad Electronics, high end Hifi c 2003..
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This remote arrived safely and on testing was found to be transmitting on all buttons as per normal.
The control was opened and there was signs of a major battery leak which had coated all terminals. It is possible that this crystallised acid was causing a resistance to the terminal causing the issue the customer encountered.
The customer was contacted and after explaining the issue was confirmed that cleaning all terminals was best (at least it would prevent further corrosion). Instead of cleaning all terminals were replaced and the PCB cleared of all contaminants.
A replacement battery cover was also supplied as one was found in our stock.
