PDT Remote Repair Details
This Therma Glide garage door Fob arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be dead. When pressure was applied to the PCB and battery housing it would show signs of life.
The battery housing was removed and there was scratches in the print (see images), this is a remnant of someone using a metallic item to "push" the batteries out of the housing causing breaks in the print. An attempt to "rework" the battery housing was made which included creating a solder buffer to raise the battery contact away from the exposed print. This seems to have worked as the remote does have power but it does behave erratically on some tests. As we are not 100% confident of a complete repair this item is being classed as beyond repair (even though it is transmitting on the majority of button presses), there is no charge looking at this item except the return postage charge.
A set of Duracell CR2016 batteries will be supplied fitted on return.
