Carver Remote Repair Details
This Carver motor mover remote controller arrived safely from Gloucestershire and on testing was confirmed to not respond from its double power button press.
When inspected a few things were found to be at fault, the dead issue was caused by a blown SMD diode, it had a tiny hole blown through the case (see image). This component was replaced which restored power but then it was found that there was no RF signal.
Prior to arrival with us an internal aerial modification had been carried out, this was a heavy aerial which was strangely hot melted onto the top of the RF module, this has destroyed the RF module, one a replacement module was fitted the RF signal was restored. The modified aerial was NOT refitted as it will cause issues, a replacement wire aerial was fitted instead. The signal strength is strong and more than sufficient for functionality.
