HORMANN Remote Repair Details
Manufacturer : HORMANN
Customers Fault Description : I've gone from pressing the top button and having a red light flash twice and then pressing the button again to have the same thing happen followed by a blue light and the door open. Then all I could get was the red light and nothing happens so I thought perhaps it needs a new battery. I replaced that yesterday, 7th Sept. When pressing the top button the light was blue immediately and the garage door opened straight away, problem solved I thought. However, I came to use the remote this morning and cannot get anything to happen at all. I have no idea what has happened. We do have a new spare so all ok but hopefully you can work out what has happened to this remote and can fix it.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This Hormann garage door remote arrived safely from Bristol and on testing was found to have erratic button response.
The battery housing was removed as then squeezed would restore functionality. The issue was found to be a tiny corrosion spot on the + terminal which was causing a resistance to the battery connection. The terminal was etched clean which restored full functionality (see testing video)
A Duracell CR2032 battery will be supplied fitted on return.
