Freelift A64930 Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Freelift

Model : A64930

Customers Fault Description : Ino. remote works intermittently occasionally, the other, the led flickers when button is pushed then nothing happens.

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

These two Freelift stairlift remote controls arrived safely and on testing one was intermittent in functionality, this was due to poor terminal contacts on the PCB for the battery connections.  The pads were reflowed with fresh solder which restored full functionality.

The second remote was found to not respond on any button.  After a bit of experimentation it was found that after holding both buttons down for a few seconds the remote would then spring to life as normal, it is thought that this is some kind of security lock whereby the remote requires being "unlocked" by pressing both buttons first.  If this is the case then this is not a fault and therefore no charge is being made for this handset.

Please see the testing video for an example of the "unlocking" procedure.
