Despite changing the battery the Remote doesn't appear to work the red light on the Remote that used to light up is no longer doing this.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Gas Fire Remote Control model G30 ZRHS arrived safely from Gloucestershire and on testing was found to be totally dead.

This was found to be due to a faulty battery cable, the cable was replaced which restored full functionality
