Customer's Fault Description
Remote has stopped working despite battery change but looks like there could have been an acid leak at some point from old batteries
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Remote Control for an electric fire arrived safely from Morecambe and on testing was confirmed to be dead.
The batteries were confirmed to have leaked causing acid contamination. Once the terminals were cleared of contaminants the remote was then found to be transmitting without a button being pressed.
This second issue was found to be due to contamination over the button pads, once cleared of all contaminants full functionality was restored.
