Accoustic Energy Mk1 AEGO P5 Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : System has been left by previous occupier. I have checked and everything works (surround sound), however, after a short time the remote does not appear to function.
Once the system is plugged in, the remote works for a few minutes, it turns on the main unit, adjusts volume etc etc but after a minute or so, the remote no longer seems to work.
Also, the remote is the only way to control the AE sound system so once the remote stops, there is no way of manually adjusting the settings or volume.
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This remote arrived safely from Surrey and on testing was found to be transmitting on each button as per normal. The control was then tested randomly over a 2 hour period without any faults being found.
The control was opened to check for defects but again no fault could be replicated.
