Customer's Fault Description
Locks up consistently, leaving a lit function light locked on solid as well. Volume buttons now only work when pressed excessively hard - and this sometimes causes a lockup as well.
The rest of remote functions appear ok.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Cyrus remote arrived safely from Dorset and on testing was found to have sluggish button response and would occasionally lock up for a few seconds.
When opened there was contamination over the button contacts, this was from the button contacts decomposing and causing a resistance over the contacts.
The PCB was cleared of all contaminants and then replacement conductive pads glued under each of the effected buttons which restored full functionality.
