Customer's Fault Description
Battery indicator on handset flashing low/no battery when tried to use gas fire for first time since last spring. New battery inserted, but battery light still flashing. Independent battery meter confirmed battery ok. Gas service engineer also replaced the battery at last October service, but tried 2 new batteries, before the indicator showed fully charged. Both batteries were meter tested. This remote has always been a bit temperamental and is just out of warranty!
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Gazco Riva2 500 Gas fire remote arrived safely from Bristol and on testing was confir,ed to have an erroneous battery indicator. This was due to a faulty regulator.
The regulator and the battery cable was replaced which restored full functionality
