Customer's Fault Description
Intermittently working. Changed batteries - occasionally would work using off button instead of on. Not working all all now.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Winterwarm Plinth heater remote control arrived safely from Brackla and on testing was found to be transmitting without any button being pressed.
When opened this was found to be due to the button contacts decomposing onto the PCB (see image), this was effectively shorting the contacts.
The PCB was cleared of all contaminants and then replacement conductive pads glued into place under each button. This restored full functionality.
