Customer's Fault Description
Shroud has come off cable, exposing inner wires. I understand the replacement will be a straight cable, that's not a problem.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This remote arrived safely and on inspection was found to have a damaged cable at the remote end, luckily we were able to cut the cable back and refit it bypassing the damage.

Also some of the buttons had signs of worn contacts, replacement conductive pads were glued into place under each of the main buttons.
