Customer's Fault Description
The remote has been used regularly since installation in 2014. Last night I came into the lounge to find the gas fire switched on full - without anyone activating it!) The remote screen was scrolling through the time display and would operate the fire, which I switched off manually. I replaced the 9v battery, but the remote doesn't function and all I seem to get is the clock display continually scrolling through the hours display.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Mertik Maxitrol Wall mounted gas fire controller arrived safely from Grange-over-Sands and on testing was confirmed to transmit and cycle through functions without a button being pressed.
This was found to be due to a collapsed button, 2 of the buttons were rpelaced which restored full functionality.
