Customer's Fault Description
Became intermittent on button press. Initially solved by placing small spacer between case halves. No longer works at all. Batteries renewed but red LED no longer illuminates.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This remote arrived safely and on testing was found to only work when the battery housing was squeezed.
This was found ot be due to a batteries "Sick Strip" being stuck in the battery housing. This is a small clear material that is connected to Duracell Batteries to make children sick in case of a n accidental ingestion. This strip was causing a reisistance to the power source. The terminals were cleaned up using alcohol and then when re-tested wit hEveready batteries full ufnctionality was restoted (see testing video).
Even though we normally always recommend Duracell batteries in this case we recommend using Eveready to prevent future issues.
A set of batteries will be supplied fitted on return.
