Gazco Remote Repair Details
This remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing was found to be dead. The battery in the remote was drained or all power.
When adding a new battery the remote would transmit but only on the down channel.
This was due to corrosion in the print caused by contamination over the pins of one of the IC's in the handset. The PCB was cleared of contaminants and the print reworked which restored full functionality.
No fault was found with the receiver but the supplied batteries have been disposed of as it is very bad practice to fit different branded batteries in the same item (this receiver had 4 different brands of battery inserted), this leads to severe battery leaks which is catastrophic for these receivers. The customer is to obtain a new set of batteries of all the same brand on return.
