Battery compartment is not working and seems to be some corrosion, Also check general working of remote control unit i.e. buttons and functions to confirm all is working.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This ID8 Ceiling Fan Remote Control arrived safely from Hinkley and on inspection was found to have badly damage battery terminals making the remote dead.
The terminals were replaced which restored full functionality.
