Remote only works when very close to receiver

This remote and receiver arrived safely and on testing the remote was found not to transmit on any button press.  This was due to a faulty transducer in the handset.  The remotes transducer was replaced which restored full functionality.

No fault was found with the receiver, it is important to note that the battery terminals in the receiver have signs of a battery leak (see image), due to this it is highly recommended that the customer replace the receiver as once a battery leak has occurred the receiver can develop faults randomly such as turning the heater on without intervention.  The repair on this page is for the remote control.
