Customer's Fault Description
Unit will not power on. i.e., none of the buttons seem to work. Can’t power up the surround sound system (Surround sound system is working, we are currently using it manually, so it's the remote control)
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Bose remote arrived safely and on testing was confirmed to be dead.

This was due to a 1R SMD resistor which had split open due to the flexing of the PCB over the years.  The resistor was replaced which restored full functionality.
