Wharfedale Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer
Wharfedale
Customer's Fault Description
On/Off button - only eventually works after pressing?holding for 2 or 3 minutes. And sometimes when on again there is substantial distortion which I am correcting by going away and back to my optical connection. Have checked optical cable and batteries. All other buttons are ok.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Wharfedale remote controller arrived safely form Wrentham and on testing was confirmed to have a sluggish power button repsonse.

This was due to a large amount of sticky contamination over the button pads and PCB (see image)  All contaminants were cleared which restored full functionality.

Please note that the fault of distorted sound is not a remote control issue, that is something with the receiver itself.

The battery cover is held on with blue tac, this cover cannot be replaced as spares are not available.
