think a button is sticking. We change batteries and it works once, then the next time we go to use it the batteries have completely drained.

This Westing Remote control for an extractor fan arrived safely and on adding a battery was found to be transmitting without a button being pressed.

when opened this was found to be due to a small amount of contamination over the PCB (see image), this was shorting out a few components. The PCB was given an alcohol bath to remote all contaminants which restored full functionality.
