the remote will now only turn the fire down but won't turn it up

This Mertik Maxitrol remote arrived safely from Epsom and on testing was found to be transmitting as per normal and worked each time with out test receiver.

The controller was then tested over a 3 day period without an issue being found.

It was therefore concluded that the issue is most likely with the receiver itself.  It is common for receivers to lose a channel after a battery leak has occurred.
