The springs on the battery housing are damaged.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Motor mover remote arrived safely from Warrington and on inspection was confirmed to have badly corroded battery terminals.

The remote was opened and the bad terminals replaced which restored full functionality.  Please note that the usual case deformation has occurred as a result of the forced opening, see image (these items are not made to be opened)
