Control will work. But it takes a bit of fiddling about. Especially top 2 buttons
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Portway (Verine) remote controller arrived safely form York and on testing was found to have sluggish button response.

All 4 buttons were replaced as well as the battery cable.  Full functionality was restored.
