LINN Remote Repair Details

Customers Fault Description : Hello there, the remote is totally unresponsive, following a period of not much use. Thanks for your help!
Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :
This Linn HiFi Remote Control arrived safely from Clitheroe and on testing was found to be transmitting on each button as per normal operation. The code being transmitted was confirmed to be correct on all buttons.
The controller was opened to check for defects and the battery terminals did have dry joints (see image), this could cause an issue in the future but as the remote is working this has not been rectified. This is because any work carried out on a working remote may not help the customer (i.e. it might be that the receiver is faulty and not the remote).
If requested we can reflow the solder but it would be on the understanding that if the issue the customer experiences remains then it means that it is not handset related.
