Powertouch Remote Repair Details

Manufacturer : Powertouch

Customers Fault Description : Have to press power on buttons numerous times to get to switch on. Once on controller works correctly and and each of the power buttons turns the unit off instantly. Unit had been working correctly when used in October but when attempting to use last week the above fault occurred. Tried cleaning buttons and circuit board with rubbing alcohol but no difference .

Remote Fixer Repair Response (see below) :

Tis remote arrived safely form Rotherham and on testing was confirmed to not respond from its twin power button press.

This was due to worn button contacts but it was also found that no RF signal was present.

After talking to the customer this was found to be a known issue but its one thing we cannot repair due  to a lack of the RF schematic information.   It was decided to repair the button response as the customer can use the item if needed using a tether cable.  Replacement conductive pads were glued into place which restored the power button response.
