Customer's Fault Description
The remote is not working at all. I've changed batteries and still nothing. I do suspect the grandkids have managed to get their hands on it and possibly broken it.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Valor Harmony wall gas fire remote control arrived safely from London and on testing was found to be dead.
The voltage regulator was very warm. This was meant to put out 3.3v but instead was generating 8+ volts. The regulator was replaced which restored the correct voltage but the button response was then erratic.
Unfortunately it looks likely that the overvoltage has scrambled the main IC which has made a repair not possible.
