This Linear Treadmill remote controller arrived safely from Iver Health and on inspection the positive battery terminal was broken away form the PCB (see image), therefore making the remote dead.
The terminal was refitted and then repositioned correctly, when re-tested was found to be functioning as normal on each button press.
This is a common issue that is caused by incorrect battery insertion which bends the terminal out of position. Because of this it is important to be careful whenever replacing the battery. A brand new Duracell battery will be supplied fitted on return so there will be no need to replace the battery for quite some time.
