Linn and Arcam CR289 Remote Repair Details
These two remotes arrived safely and on testing both were found to transmit but the Linn remote had a sticky "2" button which when pressed would take a considerable time to return to its open position.
When this button was pressed it would stop the receiver from receiving any other button press.
The Linn was opened and the issue was found to be a small amount of contamination over the button array. This was cleaned up and the rest of the PCB checked for other issues with no problems being found.
The Arcam was opened to check for defects and there was slightly cracked solder joints on the battery terminals, these were resoldered but this is not being charged for as it was not showing as a fault.
The code being emitted from each remote were tested and both matched the same codes.
The payment on this page is for the repair to the Linn remote.
