Customer's Fault Description
One of the batteries (right side looking from the rear of the remote) leaked. The player stopped responding to the remote although at first the occassional command would register (sometimes after lightly tapping the side of the remote). Currently the player does not respond at all.
Curiously the "Light" button on the remote still causes the buttons to illuminate.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Blu-Ray player remote controller arrived safely form Bath and on testing was found to have intermittent power.
The battery terminals were corroded / contaminated from the battery leak, this was causing the issue. The terminals were replaced which restored full functionality to all buttons.
