Customer's Fault Description
off/down arrow/ bottom button not working consistently (though sometimes does work - please don't be fooled if it decides to work when you test it!)
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This remote arrived safely from York and on testing was insitially foudn to be functioning as per normal operation. The remote was tested at random intervals for a couple of days without issue.
It was then thought that the issue was with the receiver but after talking to the customer it was concluded that the remote must be the issue.
Strangely when re-tested the remote finally showed its fault and was confirmed that the down button was at fault.
When removing the buttons there was remnants of a sugary liquid underneath the down button AND the other bottom button. All 3 buttons were replaced as well as the battery cable which restored full functionality.
