Customer's Fault Description
I dropped the remote on the floor and now there are loose bits inside - the remote rattles. It was working still for a bit and then it got dropped again and now it doesn’t work at all - it won’t turn on and respond.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Bellfires gas fire remote controller arrived safely form Leeds and on inspection was confirmed to rattle and was dead.
On opening this was due to the internal vanity weight breaking away from the case and shorting out parts of the PCB (I call this a vanity plate as its only purpose is to add "weight" to the remote to make it feel more of a higher quality build, its just a metal weight)
The metal plate was hit glued back into place and then when re-tested the remote was found to be functioning as normal.
