Customer's Fault Description
When I switch it on nothing happens, except for a very occasional flash of the red light.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Reich caravan mover control arrived safely from Exeter and on testing initially it was found to respond from its double power button press.
When taking to the customer the fault suddenly appeared. It would intermittently power up and power down.
This was found to be due to the usual issue of the connecting ribbon cable for the facia degrading and having "holes" in the connection (see image). The cable was cut back by 1mm which when reconnected was then found to be powering up as normal again, it was tested over a 24 hour period at random intervals with no further issue. The battery cable was also replaced as it had sleight damage to its PVC covering.
