The remote doesn’t come alive at all. Looks like dust has entered the screen as well
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This BOSE RC-X35L + TV  remote controller arrived safely from Downton and on testing was found to be dead.

This was due to a cracked 1R SMD resistor, a replacement was fitted which restored full functionality (see image).   It is important to note that when fitting batteries in this remote it will take a few seconds to first power up.  The screen was wiped clean internally as well as there was dust present.
