Customer's Fault Description
Batteries leaked inside. Hardly any use of the remote.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Air con unit for caravan remote controller arrived safely from Rushden and on inspection was confirmed to have signs of a battery leak.
On adding batteries the display would jsut show the spanner icon. This is normally remedied by pressing and holding the spanner button for a few seconds.
This would not restore the functionality.
When opened the button pads around the spanner button were found to have suffered corrosion due to the battery acid contamination (see image).
The print was cleaned and reworked which restored full functionality to all buttons.
