Customer's Fault Description
None of the buttons work and remote get warm when batteries left in.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Caravan Electric Roof Light remote control arrived safely from Carlisle and on inspection was found to have a custom battery block.
On testing the remote was dead and the batteries were confirmed to drain.
On closer inspection whoever fitted the custom battery block had soldered the power source in the reverse polarity (+ to - and - to +). The battery block was refitted correctly which then restored full functionality.
