Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Velux remote control arrived safely from Richmond and on testing was confirmed to be dead. On opening the PCB could not be removed from the back case as it appeared stuck.
It was found that the terminals were "Melted" into the plastic casing due to a overheating battery (see image). The terminals were resoldered form the PCB and then a replacement back cover fitted.
When re-tested full functionality was restored. It is extremely important to not fit any batteries back into this remote that have been used before!
