Customer's Fault Description
In spite of trying tel sets of new batteries, the remote isn’t connecting to the fire. I can turn the fire on by the buttons on the top of the fire, so I know the fire itself is ok.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Dimplex Remote control for a wall hung Living Fire arrived safely and on testing was found to be transmitting on each button press as per normal operation except the topmost power button.
The control was opened and the pins of the main IC were found to have cracked solder joints.
The solder was reflowed which then restored full functionality.
