Customer's Fault Description
When trying to set up, after having put in new batteries, all I get is a flashing screen. I suspect this is down to battery corrosion. I did try to clean the plate myself but it didn't seem to make any difference.
Remote Fixer Repair Response
This Velux window controller arrived safely and on testing was initially dead. The battery terminals did have signs of corrosion from a battery leak. The ternminasl were re-plated which restored power but then the power would cycle (screen flash)
Unfortuantely this is suspected to be a software issue caused by corruption from a battery leak. A hard reset was attempted but the issue remained.
Sadly due to the issue and the lack of schematic information a repair is not possible.
