Control not picking up server and don't flash when pressing twice (only flashes when putting in new batteries)

This remote control arrived safely from West Sussex and on testing was found to not respond to its double power button press.

This was due to a large amount of corrosion in the print for the power button.  The print was reworked which restored full functionality.
