New battery, any battery shows no temperature. Nothing.
Remote Fixer Repair Response

This Gas fire remote control arrived safely from Leicester and on testing was found to be dead.

If the battery cable was wiggles the power would restore.  This was due to a fault battery cable.  Once a replacement was fitted full functionality was restored.
